On 28 September 2023, legal advisor Piotr Pawłowski and attorney Łukasz Jankowski will conduct a training course “Recyclates in food packaging – how to implement it at a food producer and recyclates processor?”. The event will take place during POLAGRA 2023 and representatives of the Firm will also be present at the fair.

The training programme includes:

1. Legal basis for the use of recyclates and recycling.
2. Basic requirements for materials and products intended to come into contact with food resulting from Regulation 1935/2004.
3. The issue of responsibility for the safety of food coming into contact with packaging material and the distribution of risks.
4. A discussion of the information and documents that must accompany certain types of packaging material.
5. The new obligations on recyclers and users of recycled plastics in terms of compliance documentation and labelling arising from Regulation 2022/1616 on recycled plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with food.
6. Discussion of the definitions contained in Regulation 2022/1616:
   • recycled plastic;
   • recycled plastic materials and articles;
   • plastic raw material
   • food business;
   • food business operator;
   • recycling technology;
   • recycler;
   • decontamination process;
7. Discussion of the EU register of technologies, recyclers, recycling processes, recycling programmes and decontamination facilities.
8. Discussion of the documentation, recommendations and labelling requirements under Article 5 of Regulation 2022/1616.
9. Discussion of the requirements for the placing on the market of recycled plastics and recycled plastic materials and articles arising from Article 4 of Regulation 2022/1616.

The training will take place on Thursday, 28 September 2023 from 13:30 to 14:30 on the Trend Stage in pavilion 5. You are cordially invited to attend – registration is possible via the form.
